Do you know what is the one quality that sets apart an entrepreneur from the rest of the dreamers? Entrepreneurs’ unquenchable thirst to help solve some real-world problems.
Aufait’s 20 years’ journey is a story of passion, courage, and unimaginable resilience. Every story begins with an idea, an idea to transform one’s life, solve problems, or create new pathways that nobody ever thought existed.
When a couple of highly passionate corporate professionals got together to form a company with 7500 dollars investment to bring out solutions that can digitally empower and transform businesses, little did they know that this humble beginning will be the outset of a phenomenal journey lasting more than two decades.
Today, as we look back on 20 years of helping organizations spread their wings and conquer great heights, digitally empowering them to turn their dreams into reality, we're filled with inexpressible joy and satisfaction. It’s been a journey of scripting one milestone after another, and the feeling is beyond words.
Why do businesses rebrand?
To be a technology partner for 100+ startups, playing an active role in their remarkable journey to sustainable and profitable businesses, was truly an amazing feat, both professionally and personally.
After two decades of consistent delivery of high-quality digital products and enterprise solutions, helping businesses, small and big, reinvent themselves, we decided it was time to undergo a reinventing journey ourselves.
One might ask, why do businesses have to reinvent themselves if all is going well? Why go through a painfully time-consuming and extremely cumbersome process of rebranding and reinventing?
Well, in our founder Bijith Ahmed’s terms, Aufait Technologies decided to rebrand and reinvent
“to cope up with the changing technological advancements and customer demands.”
There is a growing appetite for AI-integrated solutions and AI is rewriting business rules for good. In any sector, the ubiquitous AI influence is undeniable.
AI-powered technologies like Natural Language Processing (NLP), Image and Audio recognition and Computer Vision have completely revolutionized the way we interact and consume online content.
In this context, Aufait is transitioning from offering independent services, such as mobile app development and UI/UX design, to establishing itself as a comprehensive software product engineering and digital transformation provider.
This rebranding unifies our offerings, enabling us to deliver end-to-end solutions that empower clients to launch high-quality products with greater speed and at better cost efficiency, leveraging over 20 years of industry experience and the trust we have built with our customers.
And the time is ripe for us to reinvent ourselves as a latest technology-empowered, end-to-end digital solution provider.
The Changes and the idea behind them:
Logo:
Our logo is a rounded, small letter “a” written as an arrow in clockwise direction, representative of our complete lifecycle services we offer businesses, a global connect as an end-to-end solution provider.
From dedicated UI UX Services to product development and deployment, to hitting the market and brand building, high-impact Digital Marketing Services.
We are bringing all three divisions- Aufait Technologies- Enterprise Services , AufaitUX- dedicated UI UX Design services, Mindster- product engineering services, under one parent umbrella of Aufait Technologies.
Website color choice:
The color we chose is aligned with AI, representative of how we are adopting cutting edge AI technology for all our solutions.
The overall makeover reflects our transformation from a SharePoint based solution provider to a modern end-to-end enterprise solution provider for the modern day business.
The Process of rebranding
Once the idea was floated across the board, and everybody was totally onboard with the rebranding endeavor, there was nothing much to do, but to get our hands dirty.
The entire rebranding process had multiple moving parts, and we initiated these processes parallely. On a very high level, the tasks to get started are:
- Design revamp- logo and website
- Content creation- for existing and new pages, if needed
- Development
- Content and design alignment
- Rigorous testing and bug fixing
- Some more testing
- Launch
Challenges : Overcoming myriad hurdles
Once we completed brainstorming, and finalized on the colors and the theme that would best reflect our repositioning values and work aspects, that’s when the real challenges came about. Some of them are discussed below:
Design Challenges
1. Creating a unique logo:
To create a visually striking, but also a unique design with the most popular letter “a” was quite a challenge.
A lot of similar-looking logos was a major roadblock.
Also, Aufait was launching a symbol for the first time in 20 years. We always had the name of the organization as its major brand emblem.
The lack of an existing logo left us with no references at all.
Creating a unique logo design with the alphabet “a” that also reflects AI, and has to stand apart from the sea of competitors was a major challenge.
It was almost like we had hit a creative cul-de-sac.
2. Website Redesign challenges:
While redesigning the website, we had a few requirements in priority. Firstly, to create design in such a way as to accommodate more information in one go. Visually representing that in a different manner took some real creative muscle flexing and brain-numbing number of iterations.
Implementation Challenges:
Being a multi-faceted process, with various moving parts, we had a couple of implementation challenges like:
Stakeholder alignment and buy in:
At Aufait, there is never a dearth of ideas. But getting consensus on a single idea is an uphill task. Since quality is non-negotiable and almost the entire team striving hard for “the perfect design”, getting the ball rolling had its own set of hurdles.
Internal resistance:
To carry out the Herculean task of rebranding activities along with all our external work, client deliveries, on-going projects, seemed impossible in the beginning but with lots of patience, and clearly planned execution, helped us navigate these roadblocks smoothly.
Managing tasks:
The entire Aufait team took on this challenge with a broad smile and multiple cups of coffee to juggle these additional tasks along with daily work.
Cost management:
Carefully planned and well thought-out execution, fully factoring in unexpected delays, unanticipated workloads, deadlines, etc, helps us keep this process within our budget.
The final lap
During the initial discussions on rebranding itself we had decided content creation and design shall go in parallel.
Getting design and content ready, initiating and seamlessly executing development, making room for ad hoc changes, all the while maintaining high priority, critical internal and client works was overwhelming, but with a sigh of relief, we can say, we still managed to pull it off spectacularly, with almost no casualty of any kind.
The team’s complete cooperation, the right guidance from the leadership team, taking the right decisions at the right time, and making leeway for minor setbacks, and the gumption to take some well-calculated risks, all have contributed to an extremely smooth transition to a new brand vision and outlook.
Lessons we learned
Along the journey, we did gather a couple of lessons that may come handy to others in similar ventures.
- Accommodating user journey without jeopardizing aesthetics was a tight-rope walk. Experience and patience helped us navigate this slippery slope.
- We strived best to maintain the same design language from top of the page to the footer, be it colors, fonts, shapes, etc.
- Always looking out for design consistency across pages also helped.
- Consistent typography ensures a visually appealing treat for the eyes of users- spacing, font, color consistencies.
- We took special care that components and colors on a page were well-balanced and not overwhelming users.
- Continuous hard testing and fixing all errors prior to launch goes a long way.
- We recommend fixing a theme first and then migrating the existing pages.
And finally, executing this complex, multi-faceted rebranding exercise while maintaining all old pages and additional new pages without any CSS conflict was a herculean task and we managed to do it nonetheless.
Though this rebranding exercise had been a huge task for us, we have come out of it as a team, as a family, wiser than ever before, ready to take on new challenges, scale new heights, and conquer fresh horizons.
Aufait Technologies is bigger, better, and stronger than ever!
